Next week (i.e starting 18 June), there will be another beta or RC, and we hope to release 2007.2 the week after next week (i.e 25 June, 2007). Being optimistic, this means that translators have more time for their jobs, Regarding your questions - just file a bug mentioning that the installer cannot find right Italian language files for YALI. The author of YALI will be having a look on that. Likewise, enter multiple bugs for each component which does not show Italian GUI components. For example, I can see that the author of Kaptan didn't include Italian translations since he wasn't aware of your po files. To check this, I had a look at CMakeLists.txt file under http://svn.pardus.org.tr/uludag/trunk/kaptan/po. I'll now also bug Pardus developers to include Italian and French language packs in appliations they are responsible from. I'll also check the status for Catalan today. And mostly there are always things that are been worked on that keeps the new releases. That is the problem. But nothing went wrong. They will eventually be included in the new release. As your testing request, you have a point to see them working. But if you see the translations as a part of the works been going on. The worked parts are also tested individually by the project maintainer's, but not in the new package releases. So translator's may also test their work this way. If you say these "worked on parts" can make into new package releases. It would really be an overkill to create a new package for individual works done (translation works included). The new package releases are done if there is a really big issue to be solved or when all the individual worked on but not urgent parts (translations are included) are finished. And then a new package release is done that includes all the changes. (including translations) A special case for a release need may be: if there are too many translation mistakes but nothing seems to be developed on the project. This would also satisfy for a new package release. This is not just a package update as you mentioned, since it comes with a CD release. There are still the same spelling mistakes in it which I corrected for Pardus 1.1 beta. The bootloader which is new, was already translated 1 1/2 weeks ago, but is only in English. Gorkem mailed about a deadline, which is no deadline at all since no translations have been included in this beta. I think that localisation is very important for the growth of Pardus internationally, so I would really appreciate to hear when the translational deadlines are set, so the packages can be included in the release cycle. And would it be possible to add a package manager icon on the desktop by default? Easy so delete, but handy for people starting with Pardus to find their way around...
